In this Edition of NIT

we look at REVISION Studios’ in-house event, “Gardn Market”

a flea market concept designed to promote and inspire the creative small businesses in the Tulsa area.

this edition consists of conversational excerpts

between REVISION’s team and previous, featured market vendors

“A major priority of ours is establishing a creative culture here.
Tulsa has been in its prepubescent stage for a long time when it comes to music, fashion, and creative arts.

We notice the shift.

Standards are being set.

Between the efforts of Tulsa Remote, NYU, Black Wall Street, the rising tech industry, and so many more, the eyes of the world are beginning to turn here.

We are focused on making sure there's something worth staying for.”

Jon Vendryes, Creative Strategist

“Whether it’s someone we’ve worked with or simply believe in,

we are tending to an ecosystem.

One in which WE ALL invest and develop each other.

Creating something beautiful for the community to enjoy and be inspired by."

- Ashlee Reign, Founder

WHAT IS THE “GARDN”?

“We knew GARDN MARKET would expose the hunger that people of Tulsa have for connection and collaboration. For experiences that feel bigger than our city

- Anthony Reign, Creative Director

WHY A FLEA MARKET CONCEPT?

“Tulsa has so much going on, it's a beautiful thing. We intentionally pulled from the Pearl District, Mother Road, Kendall Whittier, Midtown, and Black Wall Street to one location, even just for an afternoon, to show we’re best united.

- Jon Vendryes, Creative Strategist

“This market was a rep for us, a beta test. I hope in this next year we will see more people disrupt and add to Tulsa’s ecosystem alongside us.”

- Ashlee Reign, Founder

While markets are far from new to Tulsa.

REVISION’s team knew bringing a new image to the existing standard of the experience would disrupt the norm.

seasoned vendors across the lineup agreed, this was NOT your average Sunday pop-up market.

“This is definitely a unique experience.

It’s different.

It's almost like upscale-vintage.

It's dope.”

- Kelen, Silhouette

This has probably been one of the best shows that I've done all year.

It's been incredible.

 Mariah, Addis Ceramics

“ It’s clear that REVISION is rooting for us to be

successful.

I felt if I needed anything, they’d make it happen.

As someone who has high anxiety, it’s been a low anxiety day. Everyone is supportive and genuinely kind to one another.”

- Laura, Engulf The Label

“We’re having a great time!

The people here are beautiful and receptive to everything we’re serving.”

- Gabe, Solaire

“It’s a nice space and everybody fits in here really well, the customers are really nice. Everybody is really into it

The music's great.

- John, Josey’s Records

“I've been making great sales, it's been busy.

Everyone's been so sweet

all the vendors are like the sweetest people.”

- Meghan, Meggy's Vintage

“(GARDN MARKET) fits so perfectly in our mission and vision for how we want to embrace community.

Today we got to see our people come out and show support, but also just co-mingle and have conversations.

That's exactly what we're trying to curate.” - JV, TOWN

Many highlighted REVISION’s ability to authentically showcase each featured business, making a seamless experience for consumers and creatives to connect.

Furthering Tulsa’s culture as a nurturing place for creative and entrepreneurial pursuits.

“There are a lot of creative minds here (Tulsa)

trying to do unique and interesting things.

It creates an environment that fosters creativity and safety.

knowing that there are people receptive

to what you're trying to do.

a community that pushes each other

to come to a better place.”

Gabe, Solaire

“I’ve had a lot of different people show up.

all with an interest in health and wellness products, it’s been amazing.

we've been getting to educate a bit.”

Lauren, RÜT

“Honestly, it’s been such a delightful vendor experience. That’s not always the case with vendor markets.”

- Laura, Engulf The Label

“From the conversations with everyone. It's been incredible. I mean, they walk up to you and they're like, ‘this is amazing! How long have you been doing this? What got you into it?’ Like, really curious about my story.”
- Mariah, Addis Ceramics

“Today has been probably one of the coolest experiments and experiences in diversity in Tulsa that we've had in a while.”

JV, TOWN

Tulsa creators, both established and

NEW IN TOWN

recognize the responsibility to support and hold each other accountable, to see the city come into its own identity.

“We’ve been received very well by the community in Tulsa.

I think it shows a lack of knowledge in the health and wellness businesses and industries here.

Which is something we’re passionate about seeing change.”

- Lauren, RÜT

“All the people in Tulsa are more than welcoming. So helpful too.

I've learned so much from other businesses,

more than from myself.

Meghan, Meggy's Vintage

“I didn't know what the community would be like.

So having the Oklahoma Fashion Alliance community to be my starting fashion community is special and something that I hold dear.”

Laura, Engulf The Label

I've enjoyed seeing new businesses come. (Kendall Whittier)

You have staples like Joe and June, then SoBo, By.Everyone, Coffee@Heirloom, and Bailey Vintage.

I feel lucky to have been there from before.

Mariah, Addis Ceramics

“Tulsa is full of old money.

~people who have been here forever who don't want things to change~

but we’re going through sort of a “culinary renaissance” right now.

You have places like Noche and Heirloom. People like Old Dog popping up, that are bringing something new and fresh.

It’s very refreshing to see because I grew up here.

I'm used to all these restaurants that have been well-established for years.

To see motivated and creative people get opportunities to do what they want to do is exciting.”

- Jeremiah, Solaire

community support is powerful.

A creative or entrepreneur is empowered to pursue ambitions and passions while having the freedom to fail and come back refined.

“Tulsa is an amazing place to do what creatives love to do

expect to work your ass off.

It's a city, but it feels like a small town. There is so much excitement and support for us makers.

That's what has carried me through and kept me doing what I'm doing. Tulsa.

Mariah, Addis Ceramics

“find ways to get outside of your typical comfort zone, new ways to collaborate. Look for inspiration in other ways that aren't natural or typical for you.

Yeah, just get outside.”

JV, TOWN

“Be genuine to everyone. Make good, quality relationships.

Always have fun and do cool shit! Why would you do it if you’re not having fun?”
- Sean, Racks Tulsa

“Tulsa creatives need to look for the invisible string that ties us together and get bolder in our choices of collaborations, partnerships, and concepts.”

- Ashlee Reign, Founder

“Man, I think the biggest thing is to be looking out for events like this. Bringing awareness to other businesses that exist. Start to network and work with other people. Sometimes we separate ourselves and then see ourselves as alone.

Doesn’t matter if you're from here originally, if you're somebody that's coming from another place trying to start a business, we have to have opportunities, organizations, whatever it may be, to bring people together to help each other at the same time.”

- Kellen, Silhouette

“Look at what the top brands and companies in the world are doing: cross industry collaborations, experiential marketing, unorthodox advertising, and most importantly

giving creatives an opportunity

- Anthony Reign, Creative Director

A lot of people questioned why a creative studio would host a flea market.

to them it seemed like two different worlds.

Some vendors, while still excited, were skeptical about how diverse the lineup was.

GARDN MARKET proved to many that it’s possible and Tulsa’s community actually craves experiences like this.”

- Ashlee Reign, Founder
